We’ll always have Paris

La tour Eiffel

La tour Eiffel

“We’ll always have Paris,” Rick said to Ilsa in Casablanca…while Barb said to Ray…”We’ll never have another November 2017, so I better get posting.” The month has flown by with lots of activity. Always a good thing.

After a successful trip to Paris, it was beautiful to come home to hubby. It was a sweet reunion. I am looking forward to returning with him in tow. More about that later.

Hubby had a successful surgery earlier this month and day by day, the pain lessens. Big Yay! The oncologist (I hate that word) will be visited next month…not worried!

Okay, since Paris was a work trip (which I took some liberty with), I didn’t visit many iconic tourist attractions. I didn’t even see the Arc de Triomphe. Seriously, I don’t think it is going anywhere anytime soon. Pretty sure it will be there when we return. I met some great people and am excited to introduce Ray to them later next year. Oh yeah, we are pretty sure where we will be landing. Maybe not the actual town or village, but the area has become clear to us (in many unbelievable ways). Viva la France!

I got my hair cut there (more important than seeing the Arc de Triomphe). With the Paris trip on the heels of Ireland…no time to schedule an appointment. How I look at it…it’s just hair; chances are it will grow back. I walked into a salon I visited years ago and ended up with a great cut. No photos, no selfies.

We made it through our third Thanksgiving without J.W. on Earth. July is not a good month to die because it is the middle of the year. July 1st is not great. This will be his third Christmas in Heaven, third New Year’s Day (also two-and-a-half-year anniversary), and January 3rd… third birthday in Heaven. He’ll be 35. And finally, on July 1st, 2018…three years in Heaven. It feels like forever; it feels like yesterday.

Okay, on a lighter note…busy writing. I think it saved me. I am very thankful for that. At my lowest low, opportunities came from nowhere. Well, that is not entirely true. We know where they came from. Duh…

So now…some pics instead of my rambling.

Paris

Montmartre—the Barbara sign was for a venue, but I thought it was pretty cool and intended for me. Ha!

Outside of Paris—Fountainebleau

The backside of Fontainebleau. The Palace is spectacular but the grounds…beyond stunning.

What an excellent way to absorb history. The children looked so cute in their finery.

Outside of Paris—Vaux-le-vicomte

Vaux-le-Vicomte. Louis XIV modeled Versailles after it. It’s a long story. You’ll probably hear it. Hehe.

Grounds of Vaux as seen from the dome.

Some of the formal French gardens as seen from the dome. That was a CRAZY climb.

Passage Jouffroy in Paris

Book store in Passage Jouffroy (built in 1845).

Galerie Véro-Dodat in Paris

Galerie Véro-Dodat…gorgeous arcade

Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris

Musée Yves Saint Laurent. Life changing…really.

Yves Saint Laurent's drawings-Paris

What an artist, in every sense of the word.

Well, there you have my quick overview and my official post for November. This weekend we will celebrate Ray’s birthday along with our decision.

Have a great weekend, friends. If you took the time to read this…many thanks. If you took the time to leave a comment…HUGE thanks.

      Hi Janet!
Thank you for visiting and commenting…it’s always appreciated. I’ve always loved France and Ray has fallen as well.
With all the hoops to jump through for residency…we thought it would be too much to tackle. It still is but with a little help in France, we should be okay. Now we just have to figure out where and start compiling our dossiers. Hopefully next Christmas will be somewhere south. Back to the french lessons. you can visit.
      xoxo

Thank you for stopping by…always appreciated. It was a great trip, a fast one but a good one. It would have been perfect if hubby was there. We are so thankful that the surgery is now behind him and he is healing beautifully.
Love and hugs to you and your hubby.
