If you read my blog, you might recognize this title. When life gives you lemons, you can make lemonade or throw those suckers out. I’ve made gallons of lemonade in my life but also thrown out more than my share of rotten lemons. And that’s okay.
Yesterday I lost two posts from April and all from May and June. Only five, but five is a lot (in my humble opinion). I don’t post as often as others, or it would have been a serious issue. So, I am making lemonade and posting today…this will be my first and last post for June. What I’m most sad about…losing the comments that people took the time to write. I pulled my lost articles from the publications, but it took time. Not complaining; just stating facts.
The past seven days…filled with lemons. It seemed like the lemon tree just fell on my head. Ray’s head too. There are no details, but trust me, not a good time to have a lemon tree fall on your head. But life goes on, and you deal.
So, the photo above was taken in Pézenas. This medieval village is probably one of my favorite places. If it had a train station, it’d be perfect!
The word ‘charming’ is overused, but I’m using it. It describes Pézenas to a T. Those balconies get me every time.
Today would have been perfect for the 2018 Edition of YOU KNOW IT’S HOT WHEN. Our temps are not going to be that high today, only 110. On this day in 1990, we hit a record high of 120. I remember that day vividly. I’m sure everyone in the valley remembers that day.
Gosh, I’m rambling, but that’s okay. This post is going to be short and sweet.
Sunday is the third anniversary of J.W.’s passing. Never an easy time for a parent. I’ll try to make some lemonade that day.
Hope to see you in July. Have a safe 4th.

Oh Barb, sorry for these times in your life…know you and your hubby are in our thoughts and prayers especially Sunday. Pezenas looks to be a lovely place. I’ll have to investigate its location.
I will be touching J.W.’s life this weekend with a cool glass of refreshing lemonade.
Take good care of yourself,
Terry

I know Terry but I liked the other also. XX

Hi Terry!
Yay!!! Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We’ll accept all offered thoughts and prayers!
J.W would love to know you are toasting him. He loved his sugar free Country Time Lemonade because it was easy to make.
Take care dear one. Thank you for dropping by and commenting.

I’d say you have mastered the French culinary skills of whipping up a gourmet lemonade. And what better time to savor lemonade then when it’s 110 outside! But seriously, I hope all is well and we are thinking of you!
Barb Harmon says
Hi Jess,
Yes, I can up whip up a gourmet lemonade. It’s a gift…
The last 8 days have been challenging to say the least. I think “stuff” hits when one is most vulnerable.
It’ll be oKay. I’m so glad I wrote down your suggestion for the name of the Godwink book. Whew!
Take care and give your hubby a hug from me.

Dearest Barb,
So glad you at least rescued some of your writings!
It is a time of lemons indeed, bitter-sweet memories can at times crush us humans.
Wishing you peace and hope you manage to decompress together…
Hugs,
Mariette

Hi Mariette,
I kind of freaked (actually I truly freaked out) when I saw what happened. So disappointing, especially the last post. Oh well, onward…
I’ll be thankful when this weekend is over. You hit it on the head…bittersweet memories can crush us. I’m hoping to crush the lemons on Sunday. We’ll see.
Hugs and love to you and Pieter
P.S. Thank you for visiting

Trying again if the rose gets accepted this time…
Barb Harmon says
Nope! No rose but I appreciate the sentiment dear friend.
Barb Harmon says
Thank you for the rose Mariette. Obviously, we have to imagine it since the emoji won’t show up.
Mariette VandenMunckhof-Vedder says
Very weird! It also takes a long time before any comment is being taken.
Barb Harmon says
I think the heat is affecting it!
