When life gives you lemons, you either make lemonade or you throw them out. I have to admit, I’ve thrown my share of lemons out but I’ve also made gallons of lemonade. At this time in my life I’m focusing on making lemonade and embracing LIFE.
I’ve been busy writing and that is a very good thing. If someone would have told me 17 months ago that travel writing was in my future…I would have laughed. Now, I pinch myself and crank out articles and content. It literally swooped in and saved me, in every sense.
I mentioned in another post that the Ritz Paris gave me a fabulous goodie bag. Two of my favorite items in the bag…a 152 page notebook and a gorgeous candle with their signature scent-Ambre.
I don’t journal and wasn’t sure what I’d do with the notebook. It’s too pretty to shove in a bag when I’m working. I use a small recorder and notepad. So what to do with the notebook?
When we were in Montpellier, I told a friend about the goodies. We’d been discussing Godwinks earlier. She said, “You need to write the Godwinks down, and you need to write them in the Ritz notebook.” That is exactly what I’m doing. I use a silver pen from Tiffany that I’ve had for ages. It might have been a gift from Clinique, every gift from the company was silver. If any of my REM friends are reading this, please let me know if this was a department gift. There’s a T on the clip, but I digress…as usual. Or “spaghetti” as my dear husband calls it.
We had three Godwinks over the weekend. Ray and I just looked at each other and laughed. I chatted with my friend yesterday, she asked about the notebook and encouraged me to keep jotting the Godwinks down. I assured her I am putting that notebook to good use. The opportunity to visit the Ritz (C. Chanel Suite and Salon Proust) was due to the writing. I wouldn’t be a travel writer, if not for my son. The notebook will eventually become part of a book (I have faith…just throwing it out there). The name Godwink will morph into another name…not sure what. What I do know is Love Lives On!
Okay, this is a short post but I have a link you are going to love. It involves a secret diary, and a castle. I hope you take the time to visit. It’s an amazing story.
Happy June! XX
