A few month’s ago, I started thinking about starting a new blog. I have had a blog since 2007- The French Elements. It initially started out as a business blog but quickly turned into a blog about family, friends, travel, etc. As my life changed and things became more hectic, my blog fell to the wayside.
Last spring, I started blogging again, Not many posts but it started to feel right.
July 1st, 2015, that changed. My youngest son passed away and I was shattered. I did write a few posts after that but it just didn’t feel right. It didn’t help that “crazies” left very unkind comments. I ended up removing the comments and then disabling comments all together. A sad commentary.
Hubby and I have moved into a new phase in our lives. We always talked about moving to Europe. I was blessed to live in several countries and always hoped to move back to Europe someday. Last October we spent some time in Spain and decided the dream would become our reality.
Obviously, retirement (or a lotto win) needs to occur but we know it will happen (if it doesn’t we will be in Heaven and that is ok too). This blog will be kind of a “journal” on making the dream the reality.
If you are reading this, I am tickled pink. I have enabled comment moderation just in case of crazies. I have to tell you it took forever just to figure out how to log into blogger and figure out what I was doing. 2007-2016 is a long time.
Hopefully I will be able to figure my way back.
Always big hugs,
Barb
P.S After a few posts, I moved from Blogger to WordPress. Many thanks Rena for moving my blog. It looks fab and feels right.

So great to see you again, Barb. I hope this next chapter will be filled with hope and joy. You look wonderful!
Barb says
Girl…. Thank you for stopping by. I am going to do my best to visit and follow your journey as well. xoxo

I am so pleased to see you, dear Barb. I feel we have travelled the blog journey together for many years, lie you my blog began around 2007 when we lived in France. My thoughts have often been with you especially during the very sad days. I find it hard to understand why people can be so nasty to leave unpleasant comments and can understand why you 'retired' for a while.
But now you're back in a new Chapter!
Barb says
Hi Dear Elizabeth. We have been through the fire…both of us. You have continued to stay in our thoughts and prayers. xoxo.
Elizabethd says
PS, Can you put a Friends/Followers button on?
Barb says
will try to figure that out later today. Seriously, doing this blog almost put me over the edge. hehe. I use a different email than when I started TFE blog and had to log out and log in with the other. If I didn't i would have lost The French Elements blog. Couldn't do that. I noticed my header is a bit wonky, I have work to do later today. xoxo

Barb says
Oh Teresa! you are not a crazy. Hehe! That pic was taken the day after a work function for hubby. Just being silly. I've missed you. I've missed everyone. Praying I can keep this going. xoxo

Dearest Barb,
Yes, like you and also at a time of deepest grieving, some vicious people do attack and I know they are stalking but I've managed with comment moderation and blocking some on Google+ to steer clear of that. I also distanced myself more from those mean ones.
We all need likeminded people in our lives, it is a short stay on this planet anyway.
Wishing you well and pursue your dream!
Can't believe that July 1st is coming once again at us at a steady pace…
Hugs,
Mariette

Hi Mariette,
You certainly know what I am talking about! What happened to kindness, to the golden rule? Such a sad commentary but the world has changed. Thank God, there are still people out there who "get it". Hehe.
I know, almost 10 months. The quiet is overwhelming.
I also want to thank you for being so faithful visiting my facebook page. My personal page I rarely visit as you know. So much negativity from "friends" but the TFE page I do try to keep up on and that is a good thing. hehe
xoxo
Barb says
Why thank you Mariette. I appreciate it. My 61 years have not been easy but I am still kicking. xoxo
