The BEST news!

If you followed The French Elements blog, you know my hubby has had health issues the past few years, Cancer to be exact. You also remember he hated to be mentioned on the blog, and most recently Facebook and Instagram. Well, I used to break the rules and now he is ok with it. O.K, maybe not facebook but the blog and IG are ok for sharing updates. I am calling the change-AGE, Hehe!

A month after my son passed, he was hospitalized in the CCU. We sure didn’t see that coming. I know that J.W. our guardian angel was putting in a few good words. O.K, maybe many good words. Most likely screaming “NOT NOW, PLEASE NOT NOW. That would most likely put mama over the edge”. Yep, I’m thinking it probably would have.

He sees the Dr every 3 months for checks. He saw the dr last week and we finally heard the results yesterday.

WHOO HOO!!! He is cancer free and the next appointment is set for August. 4 MONTHS! Epic!!

We are so thankful! God is so good !! I ‘m pretty sure that J.W. was pulling out all His promises which we stand on. Thank you my son.

So with that behind us, we start to move forward. Again. To be honest with you, you know I have good days and not so good days. You hear a song, you see a young man and from the back…he really looks like your loved one. Losing a child, is not something I think you ever fully recover from.

BUT, God is good and gives you the strength, grace, and ability to move forward even though at times you may take a few steps back. It is o.k. He is always there. He is a good father.

I wanted to share our good news with you and thank you for visiting.

Slowly but surely, the posts will start to flow.

Off and running. I hope to check in later.

Always big hugs,

Barb

P.S. I really don’t happy dance anymore but if you are so inclined, you can happy dance for me.

P.S.S. Thank you

    Dearest Barb,
    That was indeed GREAT news!
Yes, with age do come worries about health of our partner and other loved ones.
It is quite normal that we have those emotional peaks and valleys that we all live through.
If someone denies it, than they're not alive!
Wishing you both many blessings and times for enjoying life together, always with that very special Angel you know by name, covering your back…
    Hugs,
    Mariette

So thankful his health situation is stable. Praying it stays that way. 87…that is wonderful! Praying he will be with you for many years as well. We have good men my friend!
      Have a fab evening.

This is really great news, Barb! I'm happy for you. I agree with you that one never "gets over" the loss of a child. My sister lost her son nearly 6 years ago (age 29) and will never be the same. We all continue to miss him and to grieve his loss although we know that he's with the Lord he loved (and with your J.W.). Hugs to you, Lorrie

It is great news Lorrie! God bless your sister and your family. I can't imagine 6 years… So very, very difficult. The physical loss is almost unbearable but knowing we will be reunited is a comfort. I believe J.W. has a new friend.

Barb, what a blessing! I am so happy for you both. Seeing one's husband in and out of hospital is very stressful, and you have had a lot to deal with over the last few years. Let's pray that there are smooth waters ahead now.

Hi Theresa! He is a cutie. He did correct me however. There is no sign of disease now but he won't be considered cancer free for 3 more years. With that being said… I am calling in cancer free! J.W would agree! Have a blessed day my friend. xoxo
