If you ever visited my other
blog
you know that I (hubby too!) am in love with France.
I fell in love with the country decades ago especially the south of France. What’s not to love?
The people, the food, the scenery, the food, the vibe, the food, the weather, the food….
One of my favorite movies takes place in the south of France with 2 of my favorite actors.
Cary Grant as John Robie and Grace Kelly as Frances Stevens.
I’m actually older than the movie as it was filmed in 1955 and I was produced in 1954.
Gorgeous.. the scenery and Mr Grant are well worth a second look.
You can imagine how thrilled I was when I located this charming “bungalow” that is tied to the movie and is FOR SALE! So excited, just take a look.

This modest house was called the “Sanford Villa” in the movie but is actually the Chateau de la croix-des-Gardes. It is located in Cannes, a city my son absolutely loved.
It has 13 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and sits on 24 acres. And to think I have been purging belongings…

So elegant and what spectacular views! The price is an amazing $56 million which is most likely a bargain. If you would like more details, just visit. The history is fascinating.
As for hubby and myself..the quest continues,
Thank you for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!
Always Big Hugs,
Barb

Dearest Barb,
That looks like dreaming away about a fabulous area! With my late husband I've spent time in South France but not in Monaco… Would have loved to of course and even on the Italian Riviera. While living and working in Italy we had no time doing this. Vacation time was used for visiting family and friends in Europe.
How quickly time passes and how 'un-complete' things look at times! Will we find the time for recovering some of that and for going back to the most favorite spots?
Hope you both find your destiny!
Hugs,
Mariette

Hi Mariette,
It is interesting, my first visits to the south of France were with my first husband before he became critically ill but that is another story. A story with no words.
You are so right. How incomplete things do look at times but I believe God is directing my steps. I don't know what the future will bring but I do know who holds the future.
sending love!
xoxo

Of course, my kindred friend, you know I have this movie in my private collection and could watch it over and over again. I love the color, the scenery, the costumes!!, the acting, the actors, the plot, and pretty much everything else. You may or may not know this about me, but I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was growing up… so this movie stands out in my mind. This will always be one of my favorites from Hollywood's golden era, and i hope one day to visit the south of France, the north of France, and basically any/every other part of France! A dream for sure… love and hugs (and I just saw your comment on my post from 2013…LOL) you are the sweetest. 🙂
