For all the lipstick wearers

While I don’t wear much makeup anymore (age and years in the industry certainly changed that!) I still dabble with a few essentials. Mascara, occasionally tinted moisturizer, always brow shaper (very little brow thanks to no thyroid) and lip color. I believe if you are going to wear lip color, it should be visible. No neutrals for me right now. I guess I just need a little brightening.

And with bright lip color every little line around the lip shows and the color can feather..especially with a moist product…which I prefer. Feathering (or bleeding-don’t like that term) is not a really great look. Just my opinion but every woman I know agrees with me on THAT!

A few years ago, I fell in love with Laura Mercier Anti-Feather Lip Pencil. Best investment ever!

It is a clear wax pencil that literally prevents the lip color from “walking”. This is one of those items that when I’m 90 and with even deeper lines around the lips, i’ll be using. I like to think I will still be applying lipstick then.

I’m down to 1 1/4. The cap on the end makes the short pencil look a bit longer. Time to pick up a few more. You should be able to purchase from any store or online presence that carries LM. I should warn you that quite often it is sold out. It’s that good!

O.k. remember the Glamour Shots from back in the day? Well. this is not one. Hubby took this a few month’s ago prior to something. I can’t remember what. The bangs hide the lines on the forehead while the Laura Mercier Clear lip pencil keeps the lipstick out of those fabulous vertical lines. Eye drops cleared the red eyes. The cutie in the background is my great uncle. Love that photo.

Have a great week and thank you for visiting.

Always big hugs,
Barb

Hi Lorrie! Thank you my friend, I appreciate the compliment and the visit. A few hours before that pic was taken, my eyes were so red from crying. God's help + eye drops made a huge difference.

My make up routine is very skimpy nowadays,, but I do love Loccitane products.

Hi Elizabeth! Thank you my dear. My "essentials" disappeared for about 7 months (the lip stick usually was applied but not the rest). I really like L'occitane too. We have great taste.

    Dearest Barb,
Funny, I've done away with most of my lip pencils and also steer away from any red-looking lipsticks. I favor more the natural or a bit of orange toned ones, with my olive skin.
My eyes have had some severe problems twice, getting a nasty attack of Dermatomyositis, with itchy and reddish skin around my eyes and on eye lids. Guess this is one of those things related to my auto immune disease. But the 2nd time I quit using my eye shadow and have not dared to put any on since than… Like you mention, we age and certain things make us decide for abstaining from makeup.
You sure looked great for your event! As long as you can apply this, enjoy the great looks!
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette

Hi Mariette! Thank you! Being in the cosmetic industry, I had to wear so much! After I left that business, the "spackle" fell away. Now it is a nice balance. So far so good but I have had my share of cosmetic related issues over the years. Hopefully they will not make an appearance.
      xoxo

Any suggestions for products that REALLY work to eliminate bags under the eyes?!
