You know it is HOT—The saga continues….

Back in 2008, 2009. and 2010, I did a post on my TFE blog about YOU KNOW IT’S HOT WHEN…. Obviously, it was too hot for me to do this post in 2011, 2012, 2013, or 2014. Last summer was a nightmare for us and while it was HOT, who cared? I am so overwhelmed about the flooding and loss of life in this country and elsewhere. The fires as well. Please keep in mind, this is done tongue-in-cheek. My son found these posts hysterical. If you find it offensive as some ARIZONA folk have, I have learned you can’t please everyone and that is O.K. So with that being said, this is dedicated to J.W. I know you can read it from Heaven.

We have broken heat records the last few days. Today it looks like it will be a cool 116. It is dry heat right now, like a blazing hot oven but that will change when the monsoon hits. Then it is really hot with high humidity. Maybe this has been preparation for our future location when we “get out of Dodge”. Not SO, you know it is hot when..

The cactus is still dead.

The hot water heater is STILL in vacation mode but you have just scalded yourself with water from the cold water tap.

Your clothes are dry coming out of the washer.

You don’t need to dry off getting out of the shower.

It is still 100 degrees at midnight.

The local news team is thinking about trying to bake a pizza on the sidewalk.

You truly question your sanity for purchasing a black car with black leather interior.

When you go out to water plants, the water evaporates before hitting the planter.

Pool water can burn you.

It truly is a beautiful state but I can’t imagine why the pioneers stopped here (I’m calling it heat exhaustion)

Yep, it is hot. I have lived here for awhile and I am always shocked when summer comes around.
I am very thankful that I can escape the heat in air conditioning. My heart goes out to those who are homeless and have no where to go to escape the killer heat. Both people and animals.

In a few weeks it will be the 1 year anniversary of J.W.’s passing. I think he would like this post. I also think he is in the perfect climate in Heaven.

Stay safe and cool my friends.

Always big hugs,
Barb

    Dearest Barb,
No doubt, J.W. is reading this post along with you! He sure is at the perfect place, climate wise and peace wise.
We here on earth are trying to find that blessed middle road, during our entire life. Not easy for searching a piece of heaven on earth!
Sending you blessings for the upcoming hot months (at least for us here in Georgia it will be hot and humid!).

      Hi dear Mariette,

He is reading this and just laughing away. I can picture that in my mind. We have been doing the research, not happening soon BUT I did take early retirement. Very thankful.

      Stay cool!

      xoxo,
      Barb

Love this… it made me laugh, and I believe it made J.W. laugh, too. Although, I know that it really ISN'T all that funny that your cold water out of the tap would actually be hot, but I totally relate to what you are talking about being here in the south! Thinking of you/praying for you as you face the coming weeks.

Thank you dear friend. He had such a good sense of humor and loved the "you know it's hot when…. I think he was laughing in Heaven. It did offend someone on FB… oh well.
Thank you for the prayers. I appreciate them.

Thank you Lorrie! Moving very slowly. Out early tomorrow but at least I'll have covered parking which helps so much. I know J.W.is proud, I had the most extraordinary 'God wink' the other day. It was truly a gift.

      XOXO

It doesn't happen here! Although yesterday it was hot enough to lie on a lounger in the garden for a whole afternoon! Don't rush anywhere, drink lots, and cherish the thoughts of JW

Thank you dear Elizabeth! Way too hot to do much. I thought about doing some yard work but didn't get past the "thought" part. You know dear one that J.W. is always right there. Sending love and prayers always!

I can't imagine why anyone would find this offensive. It's all so true you just have to laugh. Everything you said about the dry heat is what we all live with during the summer months. I know when the heat hits, I can't wait for the month of October to get here. We are living the life of great weather for months on end then and grateful for it. That being said, I am happy to be out in my pool and enjoying summer with some fast and easy escapes to the mountains when the need calls. I never had the pleasure of meeting your son, but know he has to be in a beautiful place we will all be visiting at some time as we go on our journey. I know by how you write, that he is laughing and can see the humor in your everyday life. He is always there. Be well and try and stay cool. That poor cactus has sure seen better days, but under all that, there is a gorgeous skeleton just waiting to be discovered.

Hi Char! You know I offended a friend on facebook yesterday with this post. She doesn't live in Az but in the southern states. We have known each other for decades. She 'went off'(I'm calling it a senior moment)and then deleted the comment. It was sad to me because she obviously only read the HOT part and not who the post was dedicated to and why I continued the tradition. Oh well…. You are right about that poor cactus. The heat took it down. stay cool my friend.

      XOXO
